Mindful Resilience
A personal approach to individual and group psychological therapies

Developing Resilience

It is suggested that there are 9 key factors important in developing and maintaining resilience:
  1. Optimism and Positive Thinking
  2. Building Self-Esteem and Self-Efficacy
  3. Developing a good locus of control
  4. Impulse Control - not jumping into things!
  5. Problem Solving
  6. Managing Stress
  7. Social Support
  8. Learning from Mistakes
  9. A Good Sense of Humour
Each of these positive factors can be learnt and developed. However like a heathy body your mind needs to exercise - so you need to practice these and invest in yourself and others. One more thing - compassion is also a great healer:
"When i do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. This is my religion"
Abraham Lincoln

Mindfully-Resilient is a simple concept based upon 25 years if clinical experience and along the journey meeting many fabulous people who have learnt to cope with and grow beyond their psychological needs.
Resilience can be defined as 'bounce back from adversity' but this is not a very good definition.....if you stretch an elastic band it will eventually snap. So instead Mindfully-Resilient therapist Bryan Dalgleish-Warburton works with clients to establish their goals and then together with the client work towards recovery sustained through developing practical life enhancing skills.
